The Grail Index — Top 100
The 100 most valuable figures in our tracked catalog, ranked by real transaction data. Updated daily. No editorial bias.
Command Stats
The spread between rank #1 and rank #100 is 28× — a measure of how polarised the grail market is. Collector markets tend to compress at the top (where scarcity is binary: you either find one or you don't) while the long tail remains relatively accessible. A spread above 100× signals a two-speed market: a few ultra-rare trophies pulling far ahead of the rest.
Price Stratification
How the top 100 break down across market tiers.
Museum/auction-grade pieces. KAWS, ultra-rare sofubi, discontinued manufacturer unicorns. Production often <100 units worldwide.
High-end exclusives that require a serious budget. Myth Cloth EX variants, limited web releases, discontinued Play Arts Kai.
The main collector market. Web-exclusive SH Figuarts, Megahouse POP, standard Myth Cloth. Where most serious collecting lives.
Mass-market releases: Banpresto prize figures, WCF, gashapon. Entry point for new collectors, high volume.
Four tiers, one axis: secondary market price. The Trophy tier ($10K+) is auction-house territory — production runs under 100 units, no restocks, no second chances. The Grail tier ($1K–$10K) is where serious collectors operate: manufacturer web exclusives, discontinued lines, pieces that require planning and budget but can still be found on the secondary market. The Premium tier ($100–$1K) is the spine of the collector economy — most SH Figuarts web exclusives, Myth Cloth EX standard releases, and Megahouse POP lines sit here. Below $100, the Standard tier is prize figures and mass-market product: high volume, low secondary markup, accessible to everyone.
Universe Dominance
Which franchises claim the most spots — and their highest-ranked entry.
The universe distribution reveals a key dynamic: franchises with strong manufacturer exclusivity (Saint Seiya via Bandai web exclusives, NieR via Square Enix Play Arts Kai) punch above their catalog size because every release is inherently limited. High-volume universes like Dragon Ball and One Piece have more total targets but the Sniper signal is noisier — you have to filter harder to find the genuine grails among the prize floor.
Top Product Lines
Which figure lines claim the most spots in the top 100.
Product line concentration tells you which manufacturers are winning the premium collector market. Lines with multiple top-50 entries are effectively market benchmarks — their release calendars, restock policies, and pricing directly influence the broader secondary market. A new web-exclusive release in a dominant line will move prices across the entire catalog.

Methodology
Rankings use the current median sold price per target, sourced from verified transactions across eBay, Yahoo Auctions JP, Mandarake, AmiAmi, and MercadoLibre. Historical data collection began Q4 2025 and all records are retained. Current metrics use a rolling 90-day window for relevance. Each transaction is validated by a hybrid XGBoost + LLM pipeline before insertion. Only targets with at least one validated sold record qualify for the ranking. Price delta reflects change vs the prior equivalent period. FX rates updated daily. Snapshot: July 2026.
